Samoa Week 3 - Shopping

On the way to town - a taxi stand by the sea.

Just like Saturdays in the States.

Driving into town.
Yes - there is a McDonalds here!  We hear that burgers cost $8.00.

The Post Office.

A flower and vegetable stand at the market.
This stand is selling Samoan cocoa (in cups) and also homeade coconut oil.
The tobacco stand.
A gigantic taro known as tamu - bought in preparation for Sunday lunch.
Meantime, at Farmer Joe's Grocery Store, sage advice is given.
Cherries and strawberries - hmm - in Samoa?
The four dollar pears.
The twenty dollar red peppers (each!).
The eleven dollar mushrooms and the five dollar cauliflower.
Asian sauces available!
No fear of running out of canned fish ....
....or corned beef....

... or pastries.

A snack after shopping.
An uninspiring first attempt at furniture shopping.
A tatoo and an "Up Do" before heading home.
Time for lunch.
